Schuyler (pronounced “sky-ler”) has had a love for art since she was a little kid. This passion continued as time went on and the medium slowly turned into makeup. She began her professional career in the beginning of 2020 after graduating from Shear Ego.
Skye Beauty was created in July of 2020, only a couple of weeks after New York State allowed beauty professionals to go back to work due to Covid-19. Since then, Skye Beauty has expanded into a nearly 2,000 sq. ft. space completely designed and customized by Schuyler.

Where were you raised?
Victor, NY and I graduated high school there in 2016.
Favorite thing to do in your free time?
Honestly, I’m a huge homebody and I really enjoy spending time at home with my boyfriend and my Australian Shepherd, Koda. If you want to get me out of my house, inviting me to dinner is the way to do it.
Favorite restaurant?
I LOVE food so this is tough but I really love Velvet Belly in Rochester and if you haven’t been, I highly recommend going.
Favorite place to travel to?
South Africa is my favorite place I’ve ever been to. I went to Lepalale, Cape Town and Johannesburg for a few weeks in April 2023 and it was the most incredible trip. We went on a safari, swam with elephants, toured wine country in Stellenbosch, went to the top of Table Mountain, drove up the coast to The Cape of Good Hope and so much more. Cabo San Lucas is my second favorite. There’s so much to do in the town and marina, the water and weather is beautiful, and the food is incredible (especially their Italian food oddly enough).
Favorite thing about your job?
When people are happy with the work that I’ve done because knowing I made a positive impact on someone’s life, is the best feeling ever. My job is so rewarding in so many ways whether I made it easier to get ready in the morning, corrected something that has been an insecurity or just overall allowed someone to feel more confident in their skin.
Anything on your bucket list?
I’d love to travel to Italy someday. It’s somewhere that I’ve wanted to go my entire life but haven’t quite had the opportunity to go yet. And it’s my dream to build a home one day. After renovating the salon, I realized how much I love decorating a space and it would be a dream to be able to do it to home of my own.
Dream job when you were a kid?
A nurse. My mom and sister are both nurses and I almost followed in their footsteps. I went to nursing school from 2016-2018 and decided it wasn’t something I could see myself doing for the rest of my life. I ended up following my dad’s footsteps instead as a business owner. In August 2019 I began esthetics school but even then, I certainly didn’t think I would own a business of my own a year later. Life comes at you fast!
Favorite artists?
Fletcher is my absolute #1. Also The Weeknd, SZA, Doja Cat, Tate McRae, the list goes on. Popular songs from the early 2000’s and 2010’s are my favorite, that’s most likely what I’m playing on the speakers at work.
